Yacht Executive Chef: Creative Cooking From Land to Sea

Chef Joel hit the ground running after earning a Bachelor’s degree in the Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University. He helped build the culinary programs at numerous restaurants. Previously, while in San Francisco, he designed menus for the notable Spanish eatery Coqueta, and popular bistro Bellota.

After making a splash in the culinary market of coastal California, Chef Joel joined the team of Absinthe Brasserie & Bar. There, he held the position of Executive Chef at the authentic Parisian-style brasserie. His responsibilities included sourcing fresh, seasonal ingredients, crafting french-mediterranean fusion recipes, and creating exciting custom dishes for local events.

By the time he held several additional executive chef positions on the west coast’s hottest restaurants, Chef Joel took his talents to the sea.  We are so glad he became a chef on a yacht with St. Lucia Yacht Charter’s Top Shelf!

As the best chef on a yacht in the Carribean, Chef Joel is responsible for procuring the freshest local & seasonal ingredients available. He also prepares every meal that leaves the full-size galley.

In addition to a formal dining area with seating for 12, many of our guests love to take their coffee and breakfast spread on one of the sun decks. Some like to enjoy snacks on the floating swim platform. Others take in the famous St. Lucia’s sunset during an open-air supper.
